Font Viewer
Free online font viewer. Inspect TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2 fonts in your browser: preview text, browse every glyph with codepoints and metrics. 100% local — fonts are never uploaded.
How do I inspect a font file online?
Drop a TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2 file into the viewer. You immediately get the font family, style, glyph count and units per em, a live text preview and a browsable glyph grid.
Are my font files uploaded to a server?
No. Fonts are parsed entirely in your browser with the open-source opentype.js library (plus a WOFF2 decompressor). Font files are often license-restricted, so everything stays local.
What can I see in the glyph grid?
Every mapped character rendered in the actual font with its Unicode codepoint underneath. Fonts with thousands of glyphs are split into pages you can flip through.
What details are shown for a single glyph?
Clicking a glyph shows its name, the Unicode codepoint and the advance width in font units relative to the units-per-em value — useful for spacing and layout work.
Can I change the preview text and size?
Yes. Type any text in the preview field and adjust size, line height, color, bold and italic. The preview re-renders instantly with the loaded font.
Does the viewer support WOFF2 fonts?
Yes. WOFF2 is decompressed locally with the woff2 WebAssembly decoder, then parsed like any other font. WOFF is unpacked with zlib; TTF and OTF load directly.
Why do some fonts show fewer glyphs than expected?
Only glyphs mapped to Unicode codepoints are listed. Fonts can contain extra unmapped glyphs for ligatures or alternate forms that have no direct character mapping.
Can I use this to test a font before installing it?
Exactly — it is a safe way to preview a downloaded font without installing it. Type your own sample text, check the glyphs you need, and nothing is ever installed or uploaded.
How to Use Font Viewer
Font Viewer loads TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2 files entirely in your browser using opentype.js, a built-in WOFF unpacker and a WebAssembly WOFF2 decoder. Fonts are often license-restricted — here they are parsed locally and never uploaded.
- Drag a font file onto the drop zone. The info bar shows the family, style, total glyph count and units per em.
- Edit the preview text field to see any string rendered live in the font. Adjust size, line height and color, or toggle Bold and Italic for synthetic styles.
- Scroll to the glyph grid: every Unicode-mapped character appears rendered in the font with its codepoint underneath. Large fonts are split into pages — use Prev and Next.
- Click any glyph to see its name, Unicode codepoint and advance width relative to the units per em in the details bar.
- Drop a different font at any time to replace the currently loaded one.
Use the preview field with the Bold and Italic toggles to check how the browser synthesizes missing styles — real bold/italic glyphs come from the font itself, synthetic ones are skewed by the browser.
