What is a HEIC file?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the image format used by iPhones since iOS 11. It stores photos at roughly half the size of JPEG with the same visual quality, which is why Apple switched to it by default.
How do I convert HEIC to JPG?

Why are some iPhone photos HEIC and others JPG?
iPhones shoot HEIC by default, but if you enabled "Most Compatible" in camera settings, or if the app requests it, the photo is saved as JPEG. Screenshots are also saved as PNG.
What is the difference between JPG and PNG output?
JPG uses lossy compression and produces much smaller files, ideal for sharing. PNG is lossless and also supports transparency, so files are larger. Choose JPG for photos and PNG when you need pixel-perfect quality.
What does the quality slider do?
It controls the JPEG compression level from 0.5 to 1. Higher values keep more detail but produce larger files; 0.9 is a good balance for most photos. The slider applies to JPG output only, as PNG is always lossless.
Why does a multi-photo HEIC file produce several images?
A .heic container can hold a burst or a series of photos, not just one. When that happens the converter expands it automatically and you get one downloadable image per contained photo.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no hard limit, but files above 100MB can take a long time or fail on memory-constrained devices, and the tool warns you about them. Very large batches work best on a desktop browser.
How to Use HEIC to JPG Converter
