Gamepad Tester
Free online gamepad tester. Check controller buttons, joystick drift, deadzone and vibration instantly in your browser. No install, no upload, 100% private.
What does this gamepad tester check?
It verifies every button press, visualizes both analog stick positions, measures stick drift against a captured baseline, shows the deadzone and can trigger rumble vibration.
How do I connect my controller?
Connect it via USB cable or pair it over Bluetooth, then press any button or move a stick. Browsers only register a gamepad after it sends an input, so waking it up is required.
Which controllers are supported?
Any device that implements the browser Gamepad API works, including Xbox One/Series, DualShock 4, DualSense, Switch Pro, 8BitDo and most generic USB pads.
How is stick drift measured?
While you are not touching the sticks, the tool records a baseline position and then displays the maximum offset from it. Under 8% is normal, over 15% means clearly visible drift.
Why is vibration testing not working?
Rumble requires the vibrationActuator API, which is available in Chrome and Edge with compatible controllers. Safari and some pads do not support it.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The test runs entirely in your browser using the local Gamepad API. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent to any server.
Can I test multiple controllers at once?
You can connect several controllers and switch between them using the controller dropdown. Each one is tested individually.
Why does my controller show as non-standard mapping?
The browser reports how the controller maps to the standard layout. Generic pads often use a custom mapping, which does not prevent testing but button labels may differ.
How to Use Gamepad Tester
This tool checks your game controller directly in the browser: every button, both analog sticks, stick drift against a captured baseline, the deadzone and rumble vibration. Everything runs locally — no app, no drivers, nothing uploaded.
- Connect the controller by USB cable or Bluetooth, then press any button or move a stick — the gamepad view appears as soon as the browser detects it.
- Press every button and trigger and watch the on-screen pad light up, while the counters show how many are held at once.
- Leave the sticks untouched for a moment: the drift gauges under each stick canvas show the maximum offset from the recorded baseline, rated OK, drift? or drift!.
- Press Recapture baseline while the sticks are resting to reset the drift measurement, then compare left and right sticks.
- Press Test vibration to fire a 0.6 second rumble, if the controller and browser support the vibration API.
If your controller is not detected, press a button after connecting — browsers only register gamepads that have sent at least one input.
