How does this audio denoiser work?
It runs RNNoise, a recurrent neural network for speech noise suppression, compiled to WebAssembly, entirely inside your browser. The audio is processed frame by frame at 48 kHz and never uploaded anywhere.
What kind of noise does it remove?
It is tuned for steady background noise: computer fans, air conditioning, street hum, microphone hiss and keyboard clatter under speech. It preserves the voice itself remarkably well.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. Decoding, denoising and WAV encoding all happen locally on your device. This makes it safe for confidential interviews and voice notes.
Which input formats are supported?
Anything your browser can decode — MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC and more. The cleaned result is exported as a 48 kHz 16-bit WAV file.
Can I compare before and after?
Yes. After processing you get two players side by side — Original and Denoised — so you can A/B the result instantly.
Why is it recommended for speech rather than music?
RNNoise is trained on voice with stationary background noise. On music it may soften instruments that resemble noise, so use it on podcasts, dictations, meeting recordings and voice-overs.
Does processing take long?
No, it is fast: RNNoise is a lightweight model. Most recordings are processed several times faster than their duration, right on your device.
Why is the output WAV and not MP3?
WAV avoids a second lossy encoding step, preserving the cleaned signal. Convert to MP3 afterwards with an audio converter if you need a smaller file.
Can it completely remove wind or echo?
Strong wind bursts and room echo are not steady noise, so results vary. For best results, record in a reasonably quiet space and keep the mic close.
How to Use Audio Denoiser

RNNoise is trained on speech, so it shines on podcasts, dictations, meeting notes and voice-overs — less so on music. Record with the microphone close to the speaker for the cleanest input.
