What is a ringtone maker?
It is a tool that cuts a section out of any song and turns it into a ringtone your phone can use. Here you select the part on the waveform, optionally add fade in and fade out, and export an iPhone-ready .m4r or a plain MP3/WAV.
Will the ringtone work on my iPhone?
Yes. The default export is a real .m4r file — AAC audio at 256 kbps inside an MPEG-4 container, exactly what iPhone and GarageBand expect. The built-in guide explains how to import it with GarageBand in a few taps.
Is my music uploaded to a server?
No. The waveform is drawn in your browser with the Web Audio API, and the final render happens locally with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Your audio never leaves your device, and after the one-time engine download the tool works offline.
Why is there a one-time download of about 30 MB?
Exporting uses FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. That engine is fetched once, cached by the browser and reused for every ringtone you make afterwards.
How long can the ringtone be?
iPhone ringtones are limited to 30 seconds, so the tool shows a yellow warning when your selection is longer. Exports above 40 seconds are blocked entirely. For Android or MP3 use there is no technical limit from the tool itself.
Which audio formats can I open and save?
You can open anything your browser can decode: MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC and more. For export you choose .m4r (iPhone), .mp3 at 320 kbps or lossless .wav.
What do fade in and fade out do?
Fade in raises the volume smoothly from silence at the start of the clip, and fade out lowers it to silence at the end. Fades up to 3 seconds make the ringtone sound polished instead of starting and stopping abruptly.
How do I pick the exact part of the song?
Drag the Start and End sliders, or tap and drag directly on the waveform — the selected region is highlighted and you can press Play to hear exactly what will be exported before you commit.
How to Use Ringtone Maker
This ringtone maker trims any song into a phone-ready ringtone entirely in your browser: pick the section on the waveform, add fade in and fade out, and export an iPhone .m4r (AAC 256k), MP3 (320k) or WAV. Your audio never leaves your device.
- Click the upload area (or drop a file) and choose an MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG or FLAC up to a comfortable size.
- Drag the Start and End sliders, or tap and drag on the waveform, until the highlighted region covers the hook you want.
- Press Play selection to check the cut, and keep the length at 30 seconds or less for iPhone ringtones.
- Set Fade in / Fade out up to 3 seconds each for a smooth start and ending.
- Pick .m4r (iPhone), .mp3 or .wav, press Create ringtone, then Download — for iPhone, follow the built-in import guide (GarageBand).
A selection between 15 and 30 seconds with a 1-second fade out usually works best: long enough to recognize, short enough to loop well, and safely under the 30-second iPhone limit.
