Number Memory Test
Free online number memory test: memorize the number that flashes for two to three seconds, type it back, and grow one digit per level with three lives; your best is saved in your browser.
What is the number memory test?
It is a classic digit-span exercise: a number flashes on the screen for a couple of seconds, you type it back from memory, and the number grows by one digit on every level you pass.
How does one round work?
First the number appears — memorize it. Then it disappears and an input field opens: type the digits and press Submit or Enter. Correct answers level you up, wrong answers cost a life and repeat the level with a new number.
How long is the number shown?
About two to three seconds, scaled slightly with length so longer numbers get a little more time. The countdown hint under the play area shows exactly how long is left.
What happens when I answer wrong?
You see the correct number, lose one of your three lives, and the same digit count comes back with a fresh number. At zero lives the run ends and your best digit count is saved.
What is the average score?
Most people hold 7 plus or minus 2 digits — the classic finding of memory research, and roughly the length of a phone number chunk. Reaching 10 to 12 digits is a strong result; beyond that you are in trained territory.
Is my score saved and shared?
Your best digit count is stored locally in your browser only — nothing is uploaded to any server and no account is needed. Clearing the site data erases it.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The number scales to small screens, the answer field brings up the numeric keypad and the whole run works with taps, so you can train on a phone just as well as on a desktop.
How can I remember more digits?
Chunk them like a phone number — groups of two or three with a rhythm, for example 492 · 07 · 158. Repeating the groups silently in your own language keeps them alive far longer than staring at the digits one by one.
How to Use Number Memory Test
The number memory test measures your digit span: a number flashes on screen for two to three seconds, then you type it back from memory. It starts with 4 digits and gains one digit on every level you pass, while three wrong answers end the run.
- Press Start — the first number has 4 digits and stays visible for a couple of seconds.
- Memorize the digits while the number is on screen.
- When it hides, type what you saw into the field and press Submit (or Enter).
- A correct answer levels you up: the next number has one more digit.
- A wrong answer costs one of your three lives and repeats the level with a fresh number; at zero lives the run ends and your best digit count is kept in your browser.
Chunk the digits the way you read phone numbers — groups of two or three with a rhythm, e.g. 492 · 07 · 158. Saying the groups silently in your own language roughly doubles how many digits survive the blank screen.
