Hearing Test
Check your hearing range in the browser with pure tones from 125 Hz to 12 kHz. Test the left ear, right ear or both, tap when you hear each tone, and see your audible range on a chart. Runs entirely locally — entertainment only, not a medical diagnosis.
How to Use Hearing Test
This browser-based test plays pure tones from 125 Hz up to 12 kHz on a logarithmic scale and records which ones you can hear. Choose left ear, right ear or both, put on headphones, set a moderate volume and tap the button whenever a tone becomes audible. You end up with the list of frequencies you detected and a chart of your approximate audible range. It is an entertainment and reference tool only — not a medical diagnosis.
- Put on headphones and pick a quiet room; laptop and phone speakers cannot reproduce the low and high ends.
- Choose the ear to test (left, right or both) and a volume level — Low, Medium or High. Start with Medium.
- Press Start test: a tone appears, starting at 125 Hz and climbing toward 12 kHz, each held for up to two seconds.
- Tap I can hear it the moment you notice the tone; if you hear nothing before it fades, just wait — the test moves to the next frequency automatically.
- When all frequencies have played, the results show your approximate audible range, the count of heard frequencies and a chart marking heard (dots) and unheard (crosses) tones.
Start at Medium volume and never increase it just to catch the highest tones — loud listening harms hearing itself. Results differ between ears and sessions; consistent one-sided differences are worth mentioning to a doctor. This is not a medical diagnosis.
